WALKING PINK TRAILS, THE CARIBBEAN FLAMINGO Caribbean flamingos are one of the highlight species in the Yucatan Peninsula, colourful and carismatic they boost a tourism industry with worldwide visitors. Though they are protected in the most important areas they inhabit (contained in two large Biosphere Reserves) the corridor through which they migrate is not, the protection of the whole route is important to ensure the safety of flamingo population, as such they become an important umbrella species for the whole northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The portfolio I'm presenting comprises the life cycle of this beautiful bird, part of a wider work I'm developing together with the local NGO Niños y Crias in our attempt to protect critical habitat for the species survival.
